hate-watching

i definitely "hate-watch" the bachelor/bachelorette on occasion. i was watching the finale last week and observed how magical and perfect the love story appears to be. how could it not be? the show producers do an excellent job of creating the perfect test tube conditions for falling in love. by the end of the show, the bachelorette (in this case) is forced to choose between two bachelors. then they go on their merry way. the problem with a test tube is that it's a test tube and not the natural environment. the reality is that you won't have a helicopter pick you up from your back yard for a spin around the hawaiian islands, etc. etc..

i used to watch the show religiously until my friend jonathan rich helped me to see the sickness of it. he pointed out how much the bachelorette trivializes marriage, thus contributing to the further disintegration of the American family. put that in your pipe and smoke it.
