ahhhh...rest

"Since He did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else?"-Romans 8:32

So the past 24 hours have been somewhat bittersweet. This morning I was supposed to be headed to Boston. This did not end up happening due to a flight mishap. I was disappointed and frustrated at first, but I soon got over it. I was able to take a glorious nap today and just have an overall rest/sabbath day. The Lord is indeed good.

What do you think of the idea of Sabbath? Is it still necessary? What are the practical aspects of it?

I have come to believe that it is indeed a gift from the Lord to be enjoyed.

3 other good things about today-
1. walking to the BP station for corndogs with Jess (love some corn dogs...and Jess)
2.community group - it's sweet- we were in John 16:5-15
3. GT beating the snot out of UGA in baseball (GT-25, UGA-6) love some GT baseball!!

I love spring in Atlanta.   This is our backyard.  Note that both our cars are parked underneath the carport.  After living here for a year and a half, we just now figured out that we can both fit our cars underneath.  ha.

  1. First and foremost, GO JACKETS!!!!!!!!!!!

Secondly, go Sabbath! I don't observe a Sabbath in my life. Which is stupid. I have yet to figure out the logistics of it, but I know that rest is good. I don't know what kind of job I'll be working yet, so I don't know if I'll have one day off a week or anything. So yeah...I just don't know. But if I have a family someday, I'd like to encourage my kids to observe a Sabbath...which would, of course, involve me leading by example. I think it's important, but I think it might be even more important when you live with people that you might not see very often otherwise.

  2. Ah, and one more thing. I just finished John last week! And I was just talking about the Holy Spirit with my roommate last night! Incredible passage, and I can't believe we don't spend more time and effort on understanding the Holy Spirit and getting in sync with the Holy Spirit!
